- שָׁלָלII m. (שָׁלַל 1) chain, loose stitch, baste. M. Kat. 26b הקורא מתוך הש׳ he who rends his garment (in mourning) where it has been stitched; Y. ib. III, 83b top מן הש׳. Ukts.
